EE0350 Honors Biomedical Engineering
How are electrical signals from the heart measured outside the body? Is there a way to design high-heel shoes that don't hurt women's feet? How do engineers design heart valves that only allow blood to flow one way? This course introduces students to the different sub-specialties of biomedical engineering including bioelectronics and instrumentation, biomaterials, biomechanics, and biochemical. Through written problems, hands-on and design activities, and reviewing literature in the field students explore and experience biomedical engineering principles, the engineering design process, and problem solving and troubleshooting.
